The Bioinformatics, integrative and system biology group was created in 2011 and is hosted at the Center for Biology Molecular and Genetic Engineering (CBMEG) .
Dr Marcelo Brandão. is the group leader and coordinator of the Young Investigator Project System Biology techniques applied to the agriculture: transcriptomes and interactomes analyses, granted by FAPESP process 2011/00417-3
The main focus of our group is to understand the intricate interactions involved on the insect digestion and the creation of tools that help us to better understand and identify a biochemical pathway from NGS data. The group is also focused on BioIT, providing hardware to high performacing analyses.
The Bioinformatics, Integrative and System Biology Group hosts the Thunder Cluster, a multi-user computer cluster (Fapesp process 2011/00417-3) available to any researcher in Brazil. The Thunder Cluster is comprised of one 16-core node with 64Gb memory, five 16-core nodes with 32Gb memory, and two 4-core nodes with 8Gb memory. Rocks Cluster Operating System, based on CentOS, powers the Cluster. A multitude of bioinformatics is available, check the list here.
BIOlogical Scripts for PHylogeny Analyses has just been lauched for download. consists of six separated perl scripts that helps you on many tasks regarding database sequence selection, building fasta headers and mount mesquite files for character state analyses based on taxonomy classification. A new version of AtPIN was released. Check out some new features: Download of all PPIs in AtPÌNDB, PEP - the probability of a particular PPI be experimentally demonstrated once it was predicted (based on AtPINDB data), More than 95000 Arabidopsis protein-protein interactions were catalogued, PPIs on AtPIN database present a cellular compartment classification (C³) which divides the PPI into 4 classes according to its interaction evidence and subcellular localization, All experimental data is present in a controlled vocabulary based on the Molecular Interactions from Proteomics Standards Initiative, enhanced XGMML exportation of PPI network.
